GAME RULES

1. 1. Players and rankFour to six players share one 52-card deck. The first player to empty their hand is KING, second is QUEEN, the last is SLAVE, and the second-last is VICE SLAVE. Everyone else is PEOPLE.
2. 2. Card powerRanks rise 3, 4, 5 … A, 2. For equal ranks, suit power is ♣, ♦, ♥, ♠. A matching group must use the same rank.
3. 3. Matching the pileTo answer a single, play one higher single. To answer a pair, play a higher pair. To answer three or four cards, play the same-sized higher group. A four-of-a-kind can beat any single, including a 2.
4. 4. Pass and new roundIf you pass, your PASS sign remains until the pile clears. When nobody can answer, the last player to throw starts a new round and may lead any valid group.
5. 5. Direction changeIf a player empties their hand and the next player cannot answer, the turn direction reverses. The direction marker shows the active way around the table.
6. 6. King fallsAfter the first game, if someone finishes before the current KING, the KING falls immediately, becomes inactive for the rest of that game, and will be SLAVE next game. Everyone else continues.
7. 7. Royal exchangeFrom game two onward, SLAVE automatically gives their two highest cards to KING; VICE SLAVE gives their highest card to QUEEN. KING chooses two cards to return and QUEEN chooses one. Only the two players involved can see that exchange.
